Rental Information for Alders Plantation

Alders Plantation typically rents by the week as a vacation rental. Vacation Rental cut-off is three weeks prior to occupancy. If the property has a vacancy from the vacation rental pool, rentals are considered for two- and three-night minimums during peak season. See rates below.

Prices based on minimum two-night minimum stay, before applicable taxes, subject to availability and listed in Canadian dollars. Use the Currency Converter to see rates in other currency. Sorry, but because of the extensive landscaping and show gardens, no pets are allowed. No smoking permitted inside the facilities.

Discounts & Surcharges

B&B prices are based on a full breakfast. Discount $30/night for 'No Breakfast'. This option allows guests to experience breakfast at one of Salt Spring's many fine eateries. Coffee/Danish always provided (with a selection of Alders Plantation fruit jams) 24/7. B&B prices based on minimum two-night stay. For one-night stay, add $25/room/night surcharge to cover additional cleaning.

Payment Methods

Alders Plantation accepts Visa, MasterCard, Travelers Cheques and cash - US or Canadian currency (at current exchange rates). Sorry, no personal cheques. Confirmation will be e-mailed, if requested. ALL BALANCES ARE DUE UPON ARRIVAL

Cancellation Policy

B&B guests: Deposits ($100) are recommended to reserve your B&B stay, but not required.
One-day reservations: Require 100% payment at the time of booking. Cancellation two weeks in advance will receive 50% refund of deposit. No refund if cancelled within 14 days of rental date. No exceptions.
Two-day (and longer) bookings: If cancelled at least two weeks in advance of rental date, will receive 80% refund of deposit. No refund if cancelled within 14 days of rental date. No exceptions.
Vacation Rentals: For vacation rentals (seven day minimum stay, rental of entire premises), a $350 deposit is required at the time of booking. Remainder of rental price and $350 damage deposit are required 30 days in advance of rental date. Cancellation 30 days in advance of rental will receive 90% refund of deposit ($35 is retained as administrative fee). Cancellation within 30 days of rental date will result in entire forfeiture of fees. No exceptions.
If you cancel one booking and wish to re-book for another date, 100% of rental price will be required at the time of booking.

Generally, changeover days are Saturdays, but there is some flexibility here.

APRIL TULIP DISPLAY GARDENS SPECIAL

If you are a hobby gardener, you'll want to join your host at Alders Plantation during the 2nd or 3rd week of April for a narrated tour of the Plantation's exquisite Spring Gardens. In full bloom will be 1200 tulips, arbor-filled wisteria, camellias, and the most prolific 16-ft Saucer Magnolia on Salt Spring. Book Tue-Wed-Thu for Mid-Week Special: 10% discount. Reduce by another 10% if you belong to a garden club and furnish your membership card at check-in. Tie-in your trip with a visit to Skagit Valley's Tulip Festival in nearby Washington State, or stay at the beautiful Fairmont Empress Hotel while visiting Victoria's Butchart Gardens. WIMBLEDON WEEK SPECIAL

Tennis anyone? Book your space for the Wimbledon Final weekend, Fri-Sat, July 3-4 and receive a 10% discount on your stay. Wake up to the Salt Spring July sunrise, pick fresh strawberries from the garden for strawberries and cream, and watch the Women's Final and Men's Final on satellite television. In the afternoon, head for the tennis courts at Portlock Park on Salt Spring to play your own inspirational game!!

ROMANTIC GETAWAY

What better place to be than the exquisite gardens of Alders Plantation with your loved one, viewing nature, or take a leisurely paddle around the harbour by kayak, or visit Beaver Point or Maxwell Provincial Parks. Tennis anyone? Book your space for the US Open Final weekend, Fri-Sat, Sep 11-12 and receive a 10% discount on your stay. Watch the Women's Final (Saturday evening) and Men's Final (Sunday afternoon) on satellite television. Head for the tennis courts at Portlock Park on Salt Spring to play your own inspirational game!! One tin of authentic US Open tennis balls (actually from the tournament) included with your stay.

SEPTEMBER FALL FAIR AND DAHLIA GARDEN SPECIAL
